BOAC Airline silver and gold bullion aircrew cap badge

A scarce original 1939 -1974 early post-war issue 'British Overseas Airways Corporation cap badge'; embroidered silver bullion griffin on torse, displaying more stubbier wings than normal, within gold bullion oak wreath, surmounted by an astral crown, all set on black felt backing, the reverse with black paper covered hessian backing. Very good unissued condition.
Height 65mm.

British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
