WW1 On War Service 1915 Drewry Lane Works Derby badge

A rare original First World War 1915 period war workers badge, believed to have been worn by an employee from the 'James Smith & Co (Derby) Ltd' who in 1914 were on contract to make Army, Railway and Police Uniform for the war effort. A generally recognised pattern gilt badge with embossed Crowned 'S' style patriotic title inlaid with red, white and blue enamel and inscribed 'On War Service 1915' with an additional scroll below 'Drewry Lane Works', the reverse with maker's details 'T.Fattorini Bolton'. Very good condition, complete with unusual original horizontal pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
