A good original First World War period 'Silver War Badge officially issue numbered '226795', awarded to '27557 Private Tom Bateman'; unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Diameter 33mm.

27557 Private Tom Bateman of the Royal Army Medical Corps enlisted on the 19th October 1914. He landed in France after the 1st January 1916 and was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. He was discharged with the award of the Silver War Badge on the 5th August 1917.
