A First World War period original piece of handmade trench art, in the form of a brass identity bracelet engraved with the badge of the Machine Gun Corps and inscribed with the details 'D.B. SERVICE MGC 105905. 51. Divn'. Originally would have worn on a leather or canvas strap, one loop now completely broken off.
Height 35mm.

'105905 Private David B Service' Machine Gun Corps is confirmed as landing on the West Front after the 1st January 1916 earning the British War Medal and Victory Medal. The 51st Highland Division served on the Western Front from 1915 to 1918.
