Royal Navy HMS Glasgow ships crest badge silver bar brooch

A scarce original circa 1940's period 'Royal Navy H.M.S. Glasgow ships crest badge silver bar brooch', the crest inlaid with blue enamelling and mounted on a slender bar, the reverse impressed 'Silver'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect, an excellent example.

Royal Navy HMS Glasgow was a Town-class light cruiser, built by 'Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company', Greenock, Scotland. The seventh ship with that name she was launched in 1936 and commissioned in 1937. She was part of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron of the Home Fleet, she escorted the King and Queen to Canada in 1939. She was sold for scrap in 1958.
