A good original First World War period 'Silver War Badge officially issue number '296043', awarded to '446827 Sapper Benjamin Greenfield'; unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Diameter 33mm.

446827 Sapper Benjamin Greenfield enlisted on the 6th March 1916 and after service overseas he was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. He was discharged with the award of the Silver War Badge on the 30th November 1917. He is noted as serving with the 445th (Welsh) Reserves Field Company Royal Engineers.
