Steam Engine Makers Society trade union badge 1826 - 1920

A scarce original circa 1914 to 1920 'Steam Engine Makers Society trade union badge'; silver example bearing blue enamel title circlet within ornate surround, the centre depicting a 'Steam Engine' in high relief on white enamel ground, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Bolton', Reg.638232' a registered, design and patent date of 1914 and 'Sterling Silver'. Very good condition, complete with original horseshoe buttonhole fitting, enamel intact.
