National Union Teachers NUT local secretary badge

A scarce original early issue 'National Union of Teachers badge'; large gilded brass shield, white title surround 'Teachers Provident Society' 'N.U.T.'., the centre bearing the society logo on purple enamel ground, additional scroll below 'Local Secretary'. The reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Limited Birmingham' and Registration Number '632818 a registered, design and patent date of 1914. Excellent condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.
