A good original First World War period 'Silver War Badge officially numbered '106890', awarded to 'T/24477 Cpl. Frederick George Hunt ASC'; unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire' 'Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Diameter 33mm.

Awarded to Corporal Frederick George Hunt of the Army Service Corps. He enlisted on the 9th May 1906 and was discharged on the 20th November 1916. He landed in France attached to the 7th Field Battery Royal Artillery on the 18th September 1914 and was awarded the 1914 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.

The 'Silver War Badge' was awarded to service personnel who were honourably discharged due to wounds or sickness whilst serving in the Great War. It was worn on the lapel in civilian clothing.
