A good original circa pre-1928 motorcycle waterproof clothing promotional badge'; gilded brass circular example depicting an inverted triangle with the letter "S" within blue enamel title surround inscribed "Ye Ancient Order of Neverwets" and surmounted by a motorcycle and rider resting on a "Stormgard" scroll; the reverse impressed with early manufacturers details "Fattorini & Sons Bradford" (a 1908–1928 pattern). Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel with service wear with nick to left top scroll.
Height 29mm.

Stormgard was established shortly after the First World War. During the 1930s they would become one of the largest rainwear manufacturers greatly popular with the cyclist and the motorcycling community. In 1931 they began producing specialised clothing for the Air Ministry including flight suits.
