WW1 Athletes Volunteer Force 1914 VTC badge

A scarce original First World War period colour variant 'Athletes' Volunteer Force 1914 Volunteer Training Corps lapel badge'; gilded brass oval example, depicting crossed rifles within white enamel title surround, the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details "W.J.Carroll. London". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, very minor service wear to enamel, gilt finish remains crisp.
