WW1 Army Remount Service gilt & enamel lapel badge

A rare original First World War period 'Army Remounts Service lapel badge', large oval gilded brass example, depicting white enamel rearing horse within blue enamel title surround 'Army Remount Service'; the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief "Toye & Co. London". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.
Height 32mm.

The 'Army Service Corps' ASC assumed control of Army Remounts in 1891.
