A rare 1909 - 1917 period 'S.S.Laurentic gilt and enamel souvenir brooch', the White Star Line company red enamel flag bearing title scroll, mounted to the centre of a white ship's wheel, and in turn a blue enamel anchor. Condition, anchor and flag with very minor enamel loss, wheel and scroll with heavy enamel loss, retaining original pin fittings, gilt remains bright. Price reflect.

'S.S.Laurentic' was in service for 'White Star Line' from 29/4/1909 - 23/1/1917 when she was sunk during the First World War off the coast of Northern Ireland, by a mine laid by the German 'Submarine U.80', with the loss of 354 lives.
