Phillips Cycles renowned the world over advertising badge

An exceptionally good exemplar of a pre-war 'Phillips Cycles promotional badge'; gilded brass two-part made example depicting the company 'Trade Mark' a lion on a plinth with motto "Renowned The World Over" on painted enamel backing, the reverse with embossed "Prov Pat" markings. Very good condition, retaining original safety pin fittings, minimal wear to highpoints and painted enamel finish.
Height 31mm.

'Phillips Cycles Ltd' started in early 20th Century at 'Credenda Works, Smethwick, Birmingham'. It became part of 'Raleigh Industries' in the 1980's.
