A scarce original circa 1930's period 'Life Saving Scouts badge'; bronze die-stamped diamond shaped example bearing a lifebuoy, the centre depicting a boy scout in uniform and slouch hat, offering help to a younger boy. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin.
Height 32mm.

The Life Saving Scouts were formed in 1913 by William Booth after been invited by Baden Powell to be a member of the governing body of world Scouting. In 1948 the British movement of the Life Saving Scouts merged with Baden Powell's Boy Scout Movement as the Salvation Army Scouts.
