A superb rare original late Edwardian period Irish Hospital badge; large heavy Crowned ornate circular example bearing 'Royal City of Dublin Hospital Founded 1832' title surround, to the centre on hatched shamrock ground a shield, the upper half with three Dublin Castles, the lower depicting doctor and patient in relief; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1910 and maker's details "MBLd". Very good condition, retaining original hook and old replacement pin fitting.

The 'Royal City of Dublin Hospital' built in 1832 on Upper Baggot Street, Dublin, Ireland. The hospital was first called 'Baggot Street Hospital' but was later renamed in 1900.
