WW1 Wounded soldier Hospital Blues character figure badge

A scarce example of a Great War period, possibly a flag day collector fundraising badge; gilt metal quatrefoil shape surround depicting a wounded soldier in 'Hospital Blues uniform' to voided centre, the reverse impressed "Protected" with hard to decipher signature "Casaiue"? "Rd 650911" a registered, design and patent date of 1916. Good condition, retaining original pin fittings and suspension ring, minor chip to enamel 12 o'clock, stress line 9 o'clock, service wear to gilt finish.
