WW1 Latch & Batchelor Ltd Hay Mills 1915 on war service badge

A scarce original First World War period official war worker's badge; gilded brass circular example inlaid with blue enamelling, the title surround "Latch & Batchelor Ltd Hay Mills", the centre inscribed "1915 On War Service". Very good condition, retaining original lapel fitting, enamel remains intact and gilt bright.

Latch and Batchelor was formed in 1884 specialising in steel wire for wire ropes. During the First World War they manufactured shell fuse spring wire, anti-submarine netting, aircraft and balloon cables.
