A rare original early 'Tasman Empire Airways Ltd officer's cap badge', padded black felt example bearing gold bullion embroidered fern leaf wreath, surmounted by a wing over "TA" monogram; the reverse with black cotton lining. Very good used condition, bullion remains bright.

'Tasman Empire Airways Limited' founded in 1939 changed to its present name 'Air New Zealand' in 1965.
