A rare original George VI period 1942-1945 'RAF Snaith No 182 Squadron gilt and enamel badge', depicting a gauntlet holding a sword and motto "Fearless I direct my flight", the reverse with maker's details "H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt remain bright, an excellent example.
Height 33mm.

RAF No 182 Squadron was formed at RAF Martlesham Heath on 25 August 1942, as a fighter- bomber squadron. It operated from several locations, including RAF Snailwell, RAF Lasham, RAF Odiham and RAF Hurn. It disbanded in Lubeck, Germany on 30 September 1945.
