A large Victorian 1900 period 'Primrose League Decoration of the Grand Star Second Grade'; unmarked star, cut in brilliant silver facets, mounted with gilt Garter inlaid with blue enamelling, bearing the legend "Imperium Et Libertas" (Empire and liberty), surmounted by an Imperial Crown and yellow enamel primrose centre, the reverse with maker's details "T&J B (T&J Bragg Medals Birmingham, London) and "Rd.83881" a registered, design and patent date of 1887. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect except fot minor chip to primrose, complete with detachable shortened silk ribbon, with Special Service 1893 bar attached by the pin.
Height 60mm.
Accompanying the award is a Diploma for the same, from the "Vice Chancellor of the Primrose League" "George S. Lane Fox" hand written in ink the recipient name "Miss Forester and dated "5th April 1900".

Conferred on Members of the Primrose League for special meritorious service.
