A scarce original 'State Certified Midwife' gilded metal oval badge, depicting the symbolic figure of 'Juno Lucina' Roman goddess of childbirth within a blue enamel title surround bearing "S.C.M" to the top and laurel wreath below; the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Regent St Birmingham". Very good pristine condition, retaining original pin fittings with facility to attach a safety chain, enamel perfect, an excellent example.
