Doncaster New Infirmary Womens Effort bazaar fundraisers badge

A good original turn of the century badge for the "New Infirmary Womens Effort', a circular gilt example with fine quality enamelling, surmounted by the 'Arms of Doncaster', with red cross on white ground to the centre and title surround inlaid in rich blue. Very good condition, enamel perfect except for a small ding at 4 o'clock, gilt remains bright.
Height 36mm.

Believed to be a fundraiser's badge, worn by a member of the 'Doncaster & District Women’s Effort' who held a three-day fundraising bazaar, opened by 'HRH Princess Christian' on behalf of the 'Doncaster General Infirmary and Dispensary', later to be known as 'Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Dispensary' in 1906.
