Board of Trade in the United Kingdom pilots wing badge c1953 to 1970

A scarce original early post 1953 period 'Board of Trade pilot's wing badge'; large gold wire embroidered wings, bearing circular rope edge logo, with 'BT' to the centre, surmounted by a Queen Elizabeth II Crown and set on slightly padded black felt backing, the reverse retaining original black hessian lining. Good used condition, no trace of any moth, bullion now toned.

The 'Board of Trade' merged with the 'Ministry of Technology' in 1970 to form the 'Department of Trade and Industry'.
