WW2 British Metal Engraving Company Ltd Home Guard Badge

A rare original wartime 'British Metal Engraving Co.Ltd, Home Guard silver plated badge' the reverse impressed with official issue number "27" and named "Cpl. C.V. Maudsley". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, enamel intact.
Height 40mm.

The 'British Metal Engraving Company Limited' were established in c.1910, at 'St. Margaret's Works, Twickenham, Middlesex'. During the war years they made instrument dials, scale plates etc, for the aircraft industry. They moved to new premises in Witney, Oxfordshire around the mid 1960's and were bought out in 1984.
