A scarce original early Elizabeth II period 'RAF No 233 O.C.U.' gilt and enamel badge, the centre mounted with the head of a black cat with Welsh motto "Ymlaen" (Forward), the reverse with maker's details "H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, very minor nick to the enamel scroll (right).
Height 34mm.

RAF No 233 OCU was originally formed in 1952 at RAF Pembrey, near Kidwelly, South Wales and the unit’s badge a black cat was taken from the Kidwelly Town Coat of Arms', the unit was disbanded in 1957.
