Nurses Social Union nurses badge

A rare turn of the twentieth century badge for the 'Nurses Social Union', a gilt six pointed star inlaid with green enamel with the letters 'NSU' in a circle to the centre and suspended from a bar with the unions motto 'Per Ardua Ad Astra', the reverse with maker's details to both parts "W.O.Lewis Howard St Birmn." Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example of this rare badge.
