A scarce 'Cheltenham General and Eye Hospitals' small gilt and enamel badge, the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham". Very good condition, original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright.
Height 44mm.

Founded in 1813 as the 'Cheltenham Provident Dispensary', known as the 'Cheltenham General and Eye Hospitals' by the late 1920's, in the late forties 'Cheltenham General, Eye and Children's Hospital' right up until 1963 when it took on its present day title of 'Cheltenham General Hospital'.
