A scarce original circa 1960's 'Mayday Hospital Croydon nurse qualification badge', the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1961, maker's details 'T.F' (Thomas Fattorini, Birmingham) and inscribed to the recipient 'Mary Anne Mc Entee 1958 / 1961'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety roller catch in good working order, service wear to enamel.

Mayday Hospital founded in 1829 and first situated in Duppas Hill, Croydon from 1829 to 1885.
Previous names were the 'Croydon Union Infirmary 1885 to 1923 and Mayday Road Hospital 1923 to circa 1930.
