A good original 1960's period 'The Tufty Club membership celluloid tin button badge' depicting the red squirrel character 'Tufty Fluffytail'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, colour remains bright.

The Tufty Club was created in 1961 for children under five years of age, it continued into the 1980s.

London Association of British Empire Newspapers Overseas medal.


A rare original "Past President" blue enamel bar from which depends by chains an ornate silver gilt medal, the centre depicting two globes mounted on enamelled "Union Jack" within circular title inscribed "L.A.B.E.N.O" and legend "Terra Mare Fide" (By the earth, sea, and faith); the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1956, maker's details "MN&WB" (Mappin & Webb Ltd London) and inscribed "D.E.SHAW 1940-1941" Excellent condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect and complete with blue silk neck ribbon.
Height approx 52mm.


The "London Association of British Empire Newspapers Overseas" LABENO was formed in 1930. The name changed In 1958 to the "London Association of Commonwealth Newspapers Overseas", finally becoming the "Overseas Press and Media Association" OPMA in 1965.

The Eagle weekly comic was founded by Marcus Morris, the first issue published 14th April 1950 to 26th April 1969 and relaunched again from 1982 to 1994. Its main character was Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future. Readers were invited to join the Eagle club by way of a subscription and a member would receive an Eagle badge, a rulebook, and a list of membership privileges.
