A rare original circa 1926 period 'National Union of Printing Bookbinding Machine Ruling & Paper Workers FOR SERVICES RENDERED pin badge' the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1926, maker's details 'J.T & Co' (John Taylor & Co silversmiths & medal makers, Ely Place, Charterhouse Street, London EC1.) Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. An excellent example Height 28mm. The National Union of Printing, Bookbinding, Machine Ruling & Paper Workers were active in the period 1921 to 1928. This badge is supposedly given to any member, who donated money (at least one guinea) to help the miners in the 1926 GENERAL STRIKE. TRADE UNION BADGES by Trevor Pritchard (Fourth Edition 2003).
