A good ORIGINAL circa 1955 period 'Army Dental Hygienist qualification pin badge'; large oxidized pewter plated example, bearing embossed 'Royal Crest' superimposed on crossed swords within laurel wreath surround. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings. Height 41mm. War Office Dress Committee WODC Aug 1955. Royal Army Dental Corps (including qualified QARANC attached to RADC units for dental duties) may wear this silver plated badge on the left side of the working overall. The brooch may be retained by the recipient on leaving the service.

RAMC and QARANC personnel who passed the Army Trained Nurses' examination at the conclusion of the three year course in military hospitals were allowed to wear this brooch on the left breast pocket of a white jacket or ward dress. It was permitted to be retained by the recipient.
