A scarce original souvenir from the '1886 Liverpool International Exhibition' in the form of an unmarked hollow silver model of a steamship, delicately made and including detailed masts and rigging lines with embossed inscription to the ship's hull "1886 Liverpool"; the reverse impressed with "Rd 47901" a registration, design and patent number for 1886. Exceptionally good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no dents or distortions, an absolute beauty!
The International Exhibition of Navigation, Commerce and Industry in Liverpool, was opened by Queen Victoria on 11 May 1886. It was held in 'Antwerp's exhibition hall' which was transported for the exhibition and erected alongside Wavertree Botanic Gardens.
