A very scarce original Second World War period 'Spitfire fundraising badge' depicting a Spitfire fighter aircraft within a cloud, inlaid with blue enamel with 'Shareholder' scroll below; the reverse impressed in relief 'Vauxhall - Bedford'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, minor wear to lightly silvered finish. Width 27mm. Height 15mm. An advertisement that appeared in the Biggleswade Chronicle - Friday 27 September 1940 : THE VAUXHALL MOTORS LTD.
