A scarce original Second World War period English made 'Free French supporters badge' small gilded brass circular example inlaid with red, white and blue enamel 'Union Jack' inset with panel bearing partial Cross of Lorraine' and inscribed 'Resurgam 1940', additional bars top and bottom 'Les Francais de Grande-Bretagne' the reverse with maker's details "H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18" and impressed with official issue number '5059'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel with minor nick to top scroll.

The Free French Air Forces (Forces Aériennes Françaises Libres, FAFL) were the air arm of the Free French Forces during the Second World War from 1940. They officially ceased to hold this title from 1943, with the merger of Free French Forces with General Giraud's anti-German forces, but were still commonly known by the title until the liberation of France in 1944, when they became the regular French Air Army.

Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, service wear to the enamel with stress marks both top and bottom.
