White Hare Ski Club Andermatt Switzerland badge


A good original post-war 'White Hare Ski Club silver plated badge, depicting a hare running full pelt down a ski slope between red flags and initial "W.H.S.C.", this example displaying crossed blue flags to the top.Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, minor surface scratches.
Height 30mm.

The White Hare Ski Club was formed in 1934 by Donald Greenland to teach the English how to ski. It was based in Andermatt Switzerland.

A scarce circa 1930's 'Swiss Ski School badge'; skillfully designed gilded metal example inlaid with red enamel, depicting a stylized eagle with 'Wengen' above, angled to represent a ski slope and speed, the reverse with maker's details "Huguenin Locle". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, minimal wear to the gilding.
