The first news sheet entitled 'THE TURRET' was produced in May 1949, stating that 'Application for membership is open to any person, serving or ex-service, who has been awarded the A.G. or W.A.G. brevet in any of His Majesty's Air Forces.' Their Latin motto being 'Vigilantia et Virtute' (Vigilence and Valor).
