The Church Army during the second world war provided for the forces over 300 mobile canteens, as well as libraries and entertainment coaches, this badge was worn by members on their uniforms, overalls and civilian clothes by voluntary helpers.

A scarce original Wartime official 1940-42 first issue pin fitting unmarked silver uniform sleeve badge, the obverse impressed with the artist's initials 'KG' (George Kruger Gray), the reverse with registration number in relief 'Rd.837751'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.

A scarce original First World War period 'HMS Marlbrough sweetheart brooch', mother of pearl disc mounted with a brass and enamel ships crest bearing French motto 's'en va-t-en guerre' (Marlborough Has Left for the War), together with a bronzed medal also bearing the ships crest in red, white and blue enamel, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thoms Fattorini Hockley St Birmingham Ltd' and engraved 'T.Ambrose. 12. 7. 26'. The brooch is in very good condition, complete with original pin fittings and no damage to the enamel, the medal is complete with original suspension ring and service wear to the enamelling.

A scarce original souvenir badge from the 'Festival of Britain 1951 national exhibition'; large ceramic example hand painted emblem designed by 'Abram Games' which depicts the profile of Britannia's head with crested helmet on the north point of a four-pointed compass rose, inlaid with enamel in the traditional red, white and blue colours of the Union Flag. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel and displayed on original card inscribed 'Made in England'.

A very scarce original circa 1950's RAF 'Air Gunners Association' lapel badge; gilded brass example representing a winged bullet with the embossed initials 'AGA'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting.
The 'Air Gunners Association' was formed in March 1949 as a result of an advertisement in 'Air Mail' the 'Royal Air Force Association' magazine . The first news sheet entitled 'THE TURRET' was produced in May 1949, stating that 'Application for membership is open to any person, serving or ex-service, who has been awarded the A.G. or W.A.G. brevet in any of His Majesty's Air Forces.' Their Latin motto being 'Vigilantia et Virtute' (Vigilence and Valor).
